Who it fits
Good fit for
This sauna suits households with limited space that still want a two-person unit. You will appreciate the portability if you need easy setup and storage. The remote control is ideal for users who prefer not to reach into the heat. The dual steamers offer quick warm-up times for busy schedules. The red light therapy adds value for those seeking muscle recovery alongside relaxation. The foldable design and included chair make it accessible for renters or those who move frequently.
Who should skip it
Skip this option if you prefer traditional dry heat over steam. The iTHERAU unit relies on water-based steamers, which may not suit everyone’s comfort level. You might also look elsewhere if you need a larger capacity, as it is strictly for two people. The tent-style construction does not offer the durability of a permanent wooden cabin. If you require smart home integration or an app, this remote-only model lacks those features. The fabric walls also do not match the aesthetic of built-in sauna rooms.
Verdict: The iTHERAU 2-Person Portable Steam Sauna offers a compact, feature-rich solution for home relaxation. It is best for those who value portability and dual steam heating over permanent installation.
Key specs explained for itherau
Dimensions: 71" x 49" x 36"
This footprint provides enough internal volume for two adults to sit side by side without feeling cramped. You get dedicated space for each person, which is essential for shared sessions. Compare this interior volume with other two-person models to ensure you have enough legroom and shoulder room for comfortable, long-term relaxation during your steam therapy.
Heater Power: 1200 W
A 1200-watt steam generator produces enough thermal energy to fill the tent quickly. This power level ensures the steam reaches your desired temperature efficiently, reducing wait times before you start your session. When shopping, compare this wattage with smaller 800-watt units to see how much faster this model heats up for your daily routine.
Control Type: Remote
The included remote lets you adjust temperature and timer settings without breaking your session or stepping outside the warm environment. You can manage the heat from a distance, which adds convenience and maintains your relaxation flow. Check if other portable saunas require manual dial adjustments, as a remote offers a smoother, more user-friendly experience for you.
Heating Type: Steam
Steam heating uses water vapor to raise humidity and temperature, offering a moist heat that penetrates muscles deeply. This type of sauna is ideal if you prefer traditional wet heat over dry infrared heat. Compare steam options with infrared models to decide which sensation suits your comfort needs and therapeutic goals for your home wellness routine.
Person Capacity: 2
This unit is engineered specifically for two occupants, allowing you to share the wellness experience with a partner or family member. The interior layout supports side-by-side seating, maximizing social interaction and shared relaxation time. When comparing capacities, note that single-person units offer less space, while this model balances intimacy with adequate room for two adults.
Design and build quality
The iTHERAU sauna uses a foldable frame made of reinforced stainless steel. The listing states this material resists corrosion and provides stability. You get a structure that supports the sauna’s shape without sagging. The unit weighs 35 inches in length, 20 inches in height, and 10 inches in width when folded. This compact folded size suggests you can store it in a closet or corner when not in use. The exterior is jet black, which helps hide minor scuffs during setup.
According to the listing, the tent fabric features five layers of advanced insulation. It includes ultra-dense, waterproof cotton to lock in heat and block moisture. This design aims to improve energy efficiency by keeping the steam inside. The fabric is also described as easy-clean and odor-free, which should simplify maintenance after regular use. A transparent zippered window lets you step out for fresh air without fully opening the unit.
The layout includes a built-in storage pocket for your phone and glasses. You control the session with an included remote, adjusting temperature and timer settings. A folding chair is included for seating. The double zipper ensures easy entry and exit. This combination of portable materials and remote controls makes the unit suitable for users who want a temporary, efficient steam experience without permanent installation.
Setup and daily use
The iTHERAU sauna is designed for straightforward setup. Its foldable structure and lightweight frame allow you to assemble the unit without complex tools. The reinforced stainless steel frame provides stability, while the five-layer insulation helps lock in heat. You do not need to wait for permanent installation. The included folding chair fits inside, making storage simple when you are not using it.
Daily operation relies on the included remote control. You can adjust temperature and timer settings without opening the door. This allows you to maintain your session temperature without losing heat. The dual 1200 W steamers deliver rapid 360-degree steam distribution. This means the sauna fills with warm air quickly, reducing wait time before you begin your session. The system is efficient for home use.
The design includes practical features for everyday comfort. A built-in storage pocket keeps your phone and glasses secure during your session. You do not need to place them on the floor or hold them. The double zipper ensures easy entry and exit. If you need fresh air, the transparent zippered window lets you step out quickly. The fabric is odor-free and easy to clean, which helps maintain hygiene between uses. The red light therapy components are integrated into the steam function, offering a combined wellness approach. You get a portable solution that balances convenience with performance. The remote control simplifies management of your sauna experience, allowing you to focus on relaxation rather than equipment adjustments.
Before You Buy This Sauna
Before adding this unit to your home, verify your electrical outlet can handle the 1200 W steam heater. The listing notes dual steamers, so ensure your circuit supports the load without tripping breakers. You must also measure your available floor space against the 71" x 49" x 36" dimensions. This portable steam sauna requires clearance for airflow and easy access through doorways during assembly. Since it includes a folding chair, check that your storage area can accommodate the folded frame and accessories. Upkeep involves wiping the interior fabric after use to manage moisture and prevent odors, as the material is described as easy-clean. Unlike traditional built-in saunas, this foldable design offers flexibility but demands consistent maintenance to preserve the five-layer insulation. It fits best for users who prioritize quick setup and shared sessions over permanent installation. Compare its portability against fixed units to see if it matches your lifestyle.
Check before you buy

- Measure your space for the 71" x 49" x 36" footprint.
