Who it fits
Good fit for
You will like this sauna if you want a dedicated recovery tool that fits in a home space. The large interior and included chair make it suitable for longer sessions. The portable design and tool-free setup help if you need flexible placement. The red light therapy feature appeals to those focused on post-workout muscle relief. Users who prefer customizable heat levels will appreciate the 15-level temperature control and digital timer.
Who should skip it
Skip this option if you need a full-body infrared sauna without steam components, as this unit relies on steam generation. It is not ideal if you require a compact, travel-sized unit, since the 71-inch height limits portability. Users who want a fully enclosed, traditional wood sauna should look elsewhere. This model is also less suitable if you prefer analog controls, as it uses a digital timer and remote.
Verdict: This sauna offers a practical blend of steam heat and red light therapy for targeted recovery. Its large, portable design suits home users who value customizable settings and easy setup.
Key specs explained for this sauna
Heater Power: 1300 W
This wattage indicates the energy required to heat the water and generate steam. A 1300 W unit is designed for home use, balancing performance with electrical safety. You will see it reach operating temperatures faster than lower-power models, allowing you to start your session without long waits. Compare this to larger cabin saunas that often require higher amperage circuits.
Dimensions: 71" x 32" x 32"
These measurements define the internal volume where you sit or stand. The 71-inch height allows most adults to sit upright without hunching, while the 32-inch width and depth provide enough room for movement. This footprint fits in standard rooms, making it suitable for apartments or small spaces. Check your room dimensions to ensure the box fits comfortably with adequate clearance.
Heating Type: Steam
Steam saunas use high humidity to penetrate muscles and open pores. This type of heat feels intense at lower temperatures compared to dry heat. It is ideal for respiratory relief and deep relaxation. Unlike infrared saunas that warm the body directly, steam heats the air around you. Choose this if you prefer a moist, enveloping heat experience.
Control Type: Remote, manual
You can adjust settings using the included remote control or the manual panel on the unit. This dual control offers flexibility, letting you change temperature or timer settings from a distance without breaking your relaxation. It is convenient for adjusting the session as your body temperature changes. Ensure you keep the remote within range for reliable operation during your use.
Features: 660nm & 850nm red light
These specific wavelengths are used in light therapy to support muscle recovery and circulation. The 660nm light penetrates superficially, while 850nm reaches deeper tissues. Combined with steam, this feature aims to reduce soreness after workouts. It adds a wellness layer to your session. Look for this if you want a multi-modal approach to post-exercise recovery and general well-being.
Design and Build Quality
The iTHERAU sauna features a rust-resistant stainless steel frame, which the listing notes is engineered for durability. This material choice helps prevent corrosion from the high-humidity environment inside the unit. The exterior is finished in ink black, a color that may help conceal minor scuffs or water spots during regular use. You will find the fabric is designed to be wipe-clean, simplifying maintenance after sweaty sessions. According to the listing, five-layer waterproof insulation lines the interior. This construction is intended to retain heat efficiently, reducing energy waste and keeping the exterior surface cooler to the touch.
Inside, the layout includes a large folding chair, providing a dedicated spot for rest or seated therapy. The spacious interior, measuring 71 inches high by 32 inches wide and deep, allows you to stand or sit comfortably without feeling cramped. The unit is described as portable, featuring a tool-free detachable frame. This design allows for quick assembly without additional hardware and facilitates compact storage when not in use. The control panel offers both remote and manual operation, giving you flexibility in how you adjust the 15-level temperature settings and 99-minute timer. These physical design choices prioritize ease of setup and long-term usability in a home setting.
Setup and Everyday Use
The iTHERAU sauna is designed for tool-free assembly, allowing you to detach the frame for quick installation and compact storage. This portable design simplifies setup, making it easy to move or store when not in use. The unit includes a folding chair, which provides a comfortable resting space within the 71 by 32 by 32 inch interior. You can choose to stand or sit during your sessions, depending on your preference.
Operation is managed through both remote and manual controls. You can adjust the temperature across 15 levels to find your ideal heat. The digital timer allows for sessions up to 99 minutes. With 1300 watts of power and a 3-liter steam chamber, the unit heats in approximately 6 to 10 minutes. This efficiency means you spend less time waiting and more time in the steam.
Safety features include dry-burn prevention and leakage protection. These systems are intended to provide peace of mind during operation. The interior fabric is wipe-clean, which simplifies maintenance after each use. Five-layer waterproof insulation helps retain heat and improve energy efficiency. The stainless steel frame resists rust, ensuring durability in high-humidity environments. You can combine the steam heat with 660nm and 850nm red light therapy for a comprehensive relaxation experience. The controls let you tailor every session to your specific needs, whether for muscle recovery or general well-being.
Before You Buy This Sauna
Before you buy, consider your space and power needs. The 71 by 32 by 32 inch footprint requires a dedicated area with adequate ventilation. You must verify your electrical circuit can handle the 1300 watt heater without tripping breakers. The 3 liter water reservoir needs frequent refilling, so keep a large jug nearby to avoid interruptions during sessions. The wipe-clean fabric interior simplifies maintenance, but you should inspect the seals regularly to prevent leaks. This unit combines steam and red light therapy, distinguishing it from pure infrared or traditional steam models. If you prioritize muscle recovery alongside relaxation, this hybrid approach suits you. However, if you prefer dry heat only, look elsewhere. Ensure your home has sufficient floor strength for the weight and that the folding chair fits your comfort preferences. Check the remote functionality if you prefer hands-free control over manual adjustments.
Check before you buy
- Verify your electrical circuit supports 1300 watts safely.
- Ensure your room has enough ventilation and space.
- Confirm you can refill the 3 liter tank easily.
- Check if the folding chair fits your comfort needs.
