The independent top zipper allows for hands-free use of devices.
Who should skip it
You should look elsewhere if you need a full-size infrared sauna. This unit is strictly for steam therapy. The 2-liter water tank may require refilling for longer sessions. Verdict: The MUTAMA Personal Portable Steam Sauna offers a practical, space-saving steam solution for individuals. Its 1200W heater and 2L tank provide reliable performance for solo sessions.
Key specs explained for you
Heater Power: 1200W
A 1200W heater provides strong thermal output for a personal steam sauna. This wattage helps the unit reach maximum temperature within 10 to 15 minutes. You benefit from faster heat-up times compared to lower-wattage models. This spec is essential if you want a quick, efficient session without waiting long for the steam to generate effectively.
Water Tank: 2L
A 2-liter water tank holds a substantial volume for continuous steaming. This capacity supports longer sessions before requiring a refill. You can enjoy extended relaxation without interruption. When comparing home saunas, a larger tank often means fewer breaks. This size balances portability with sufficient runtime for a thorough sweat session.
Dimensions: 32" x 26" x 36"
These external dimensions define the footprint and interior space of the sauna. The 32-inch length and 36-inch height accommodate most seated users comfortably. You can place this unit in apartments or small rooms without occupying excessive floor space. The width allows for adequate shoulder room. Compare this footprint to larger cabins to ensure it fits your available area.
Control Type: 99-minute timer
A 99-minute timer allows precise control over your session length. You can set the sauna to shut off automatically after your desired duration. This feature prevents overheating and ensures safety. You benefit from peace of mind, knowing the unit will turn off even if you fall asleep. This range covers most standard sauna routines effectively.
Max Temperature: 9 settings
Nine temperature settings give you granular control over the heat level. You can adjust the intensity to match your comfort or tolerance. This flexibility allows for gradual warming or intense sweating. When shopping, more settings offer better customization. You can fine-tune the environment for specific relaxation goals or medical recommendations without guessing.

Daily operation centers on the 1200W steam generator and the 2-liter water tank. You fill the tank with water before turning the unit on. The heater reaches maximum temperature in 10 to 15 minutes. This speed is driven by the high wattage output. Once hot, you select from nine adjustable temperature settings. This range lets you customize the heat level for your comfort. The control panel also features a 99-minute timer. You can set this duration to match your preferred session length.
Safety features are integrated into the daily routine. An anti-dry-burning system monitors the water level. If the tank runs low, the unit automatically shuts off. This prevents damage and reduces the need for constant monitoring. The top zipper opening is independent, allowing you to keep your hands free. You can use a phone or read while seated inside. The five-layer insulated fabric helps maintain consistent internal temperatures. This insulation reduces heat loss, ensuring the environment stays warm throughout your session.
Key Considerations Before Purchase
Before you buy, check your electrical outlet. This unit requires a standard 120V circuit. Ensure the room has adequate ventilation to manage humidity. You will need a waterproof mat for the floor to catch condensation. Keep the area clear of obstructions for the 32 by 26 by 36 inch footprint. The 2-liter tank needs distilled water to prevent mineral buildup. Clean the fabric after each use with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals that might damage the five-layer insulation. This sauna fits well if you prioritize portability over large capacity. It suits renters or those with limited space. Compare it against fixed units if you want permanent installation. It also differs from infrared models by using steam for immediate heat. Consider your storage space for the folded unit. This option is ideal for temporary, focused relaxation sessions rather than long, multi-person treatments. Verify your power setup before ordering.
Check before you buy
- Verify you have a standard 120V outlet nearby.
- Ensure you have floor protection for condensation.
- Check storage space for the folded unit.
