Who it fits
Good fit for
This kit suits you if you want spa-level steam therapy without installing a permanent sauna. The quick 15-minute heat-up time fits busy schedules. Its portable design works well for renters or those with limited storage. The included chair and floor mat make it ready to use immediately. If you value muscle recovery and stress relief through steam, this tent delivers the heat and humidity you need in a compact, affordable package.
Who should skip it
Skip this option if you prefer dry heat saunas or need room for two people. The 1-person capacity limits group use. Tall users may find the 34-inch height restrictive. If you want infrared technology or smart app connectivity, this model does not offer those features. It is also not suitable for those who prefer traditional wood-fired or electric cabin saunas with longer, slower heating cycles.
Verdict: The SAUNABOX SmartSteam Kit Pro offers a convenient, portable steam experience for individuals. It is a practical choice for small spaces and quick recovery sessions.
SAUNABOX SmartSteam Kit Pro Key Specs
Max Temperature: 140°F
This limit allows you to reach a comfortable heat level without exceeding safe thresholds for portable units. It ensures consistent warmth for muscle recovery and relaxation. You should verify that this maximum aligns with your comfort preferences, as some users may prefer slightly lower temperatures for extended sessions.
Dimensions: 34" x 72" x 34"
These measurements define the physical footprint and interior space. The 72-inch length accommodates most adults, while the 34-inch width provides adequate shoulder room. You need to ensure your available space can accommodate this rectangular shape. Compare this volume to larger cabin saunas to understand the trade-off between portability and interior volume.
Person Capacity: 1 Person
This specification confirms the unit is designed for single occupancy. It ensures proper heat distribution and steam concentration for one user. You cannot comfortably or safely accommodate multiple people inside. When comparing options, note that two-person models exist but require significantly more floor space and power consumption for operation.
Heating Type: Steam
This indicates the sauna uses a steam generator rather than infrared heating elements. Steam provides high humidity, which can help with respiratory comfort and skin hydration. You should use distilled water to prevent mineral buildup in the chamber. Compare this to infrared saunas if you prefer dry heat or have sensitivities to high humidity environments.
Design: Tent
This describes the portable, fabric-based structure that folds for storage. You can set it up quickly without tools and store it away when not in use. This design suits renters or those with limited permanent space. Compare this flexibility to traditional wooden cabins, which offer durability but require dedicated installation areas and cannot be moved easily.
Design and build overview
The SAUNABOX SmartSteam Kit Pro is a portable tent sauna. According to the listing, it uses a lightweight pop-up frame. This design allows you to assemble the unit in about ten minutes without tools. The cover features ThermoShield insulation. This material helps retain heat and humidity efficiently. The compact, foldable structure makes storage simple. You can easily move it for travel or tuck it away in small spaces.
The interior layout supports one person. The dimensions are 34 inches wide, 72 inches long, and 34 inches high. This footprint fits into standard rooms without dominating the space. The listing notes that the kit includes a SweatLock floor mat. This accessory protects your flooring from condensation. A portable chair and waterproof phone holder are also included. These items create a seated experience without requiring you to bring your own gear.
The exterior finish comes in black or beige with red light options. The tent design relies on the frame’s stability rather than permanent installation. You do not need to mount it to walls or floors. This flexibility suits renters or those with limited square footage. The simple construction focuses on quick setup and reliable steam generation. You can enjoy spa-level therapy without committing to a fixed sauna structure.
Setup and everyday use guide
You assemble the SAUNABOX SmartSteam Kit Pro in roughly ten minutes. The listing describes a lightweight pop-up frame that requires no tools. You simply erect the structure and attach the insulated ThermoShield cover. This design supports quick setup and easy storage. The compact, foldable nature of the tent allows you to move it or store it away when not in use.
Daily operation follows a straightforward three-step process. First, you ensure the frame and cover are secure. Next, you add distilled water to the integrated SmartSteam chamber. The use of distilled water is important for maintaining the heating element. Within fifteen minutes, the unit generates steam. The steam fills the interior space, reaching temperatures up to 140°F with nearly 100% humidity. This high humidity level is key for the intended deep tissue and circulation benefits.
Once the steam cycle begins, you step inside and sit on the included portable chair. The kit comes with a SweatLock floor mat to manage moisture. A waterproof phone holder and towel hook are also provided for convenience. The interior height of 34 inches fits most users, though taller individuals may need to consider the alternative 56-inch option available in variations. You remain inside until the session is complete, enjoying the consistent heat environment created by the steam generator.
Before you buy this kit
Before purchasing the SAUNABOX SmartSteam Kit Pro, verify your electrical outlet location. The unit requires access to power for the steam generator, so ensure the cord reaches comfortably without extension cords. You must use distilled water only in the SmartSteam chamber to prevent mineral buildup and maintain the heating element. Regularly wipe down the ThermoShield cover and floor mat after each session to preserve the insulation and hygiene. This tent sauna occupies 34 by 72 inches, so measure your space carefully. It fits well in small rooms or apartments where traditional saunas cannot go. Consider how this portable option compares to fixed installations. If you travel or need flexible storage, this kit’s foldable design offers distinct advantages over permanent units. Check that you have enough vertical clearance, as the standard model is 34 inches high. Variations exist with different heights, so select the version that suits your room’s dimensions. This practical approach ensures you get the most from your steam therapy sessions without damaging the equipment.
Check before you buy
- Verify electrical outlet proximity for the steam generator cord.
- Measure floor space for the 34 by 72 inch footprint.
- Confirm vertical clearance for the 34 inch height option.

Frequently asked questions
Who is the SAUNABOX SmartSteam Kit Pro best for?
It is best for solo users with limited space. The unit is designed for one person, measuring 34 inches wide and 72 inches long. This compact footprint allows it to fit in tight areas where larger saunas cannot go. It is ideal if you value convenience and need a portable solution that stores easily.
What are the exact dimensions of this 1-person steam sauna?
The SAUNABOX SmartSteam Kit Pro measures 34 inches in width, 34 inches in height, and 72 inches in length. These specific dimensions define its internal volume for a single user. The tent design uses this space efficiently to retain steam and heat, ensuring you stay warm during your session without requiring a large room.
Is this sauna suitable for two people?
No, it is strictly designed for one person. Although the listing categorizes it as a 1-2 person tent, the specific model JYS-B3 is sized for a single user. The interior width of 34 inches is too narrow for two people to sit comfortably side by side. You should choose a larger model if you need capacity for two.
What type of heating does the SmartSteam Kit Pro use?
It uses a steam heating type. This method generates high humidity to penetrate muscles and promote circulation. Unlike dry saunas, this unit creates a moist heat environment. The steam generator produces the heat, which is then contained within the insulated ThermoShield cover to maintain consistent temperatures for your relaxation or recovery routine.
What is the model number for this SAUNABOX sauna?
The model number is JYS-B3. You can use this identifier to verify compatibility with accessories or replacement parts. It distinguishes this specific 1-person black tent from other variants in the SAUNABOX lineup. Checking this number ensures you are looking at the correct specifications for the portable steam unit you intend to purchase.
Does the SAUNABOX SmartSteam Kit Pro have a tent design?
Yes, it features a tent design. This structure uses a lightweight pop-up frame that requires no tools for assembly. The cover attaches to this frame to create an enclosed steam chamber. This design choice makes the unit portable and easy to store when not in use, fitting the needs of users who want flexibility in placement.
